HISTORY OF CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic as a profession began in 1895 when its founder, Daniel David Palmer, “adjusted” the spine of a deaf janitor and claimed to restore his hearing.
Spinal manipulation was not an unknown treatment in 1895, and Palmer never claimed to be the first to use manipulation for the cure of disease.
He did claim, however, to be the first to use specific contacts as short-leverage points for making more specific spinal "adjustments."

Subluxation
Chiropractic
We currently define a chiropractic subluxation as a self-perpetuating, central
segmental motor control problem that involves a joint, such as a vertebral motion segment, that is not moving appropriately, resulting in ongoing maladaptive neural plastic changes that interfere with the central nervous system’s ability to self-regulate, self-organize, adapt, repair and heal.
There are 5 types of stress that can create subluxations:
Physical stress, when external stress is greater than internal resistance (fall, trauma). Emotional stress, when our positive or negative emotions overwhelm our state of balance (excitement, depression). Chemical stress, when our diet is not adapted to what our body requires (malnutrition, over-nutrition) as well as pollution. Mental stress, when our thousands of thoughts a day lead us to distraction (thinking about something while we are doing something else). Spiritual stress, when we move away from our axis of life, what we are made for (not expressing our unique talent to bring something positive to the world).

Adjustement
Chiropractic
Adjustment chiropractic is a procedure in which trained specialists (chiropractors) use their hands or a small instrument to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint. The goal of this procedure is to improve spinal motion and improve your body's physical function.
The chiropractor gives back the capacity to your innate intelligence to express itself and to your body to restore an optimal physiology, to ensure its functions of self-regulation and self-healing in the best conditions. So your body has less and less need to alert you via symptoms, and the latter being no longer necessary, they end up vanish.
